We're excited to introduce a brand-new mural to Black Cat Alley this year, "Up Up and Away," by Wisconsin artist and educator Arcadia Melster. Created in May 2026, this joyful new addition brings a sense of optimism, imagination, and perseverance to the alley, and we're thrilled to welcome Arcadia's work to our growing collection of public art.

"Up Up and Away," created by artist and educator Arcadia Melster, depicts a representation of perseverance through whimsy and glee.

"This work represents all of us; the things that we strive for and the hard work that comes with it. It is possible to follow our dreams no matter who we are and where we come from. The mural is a dedication to those who have supported my artistic ventures, new and old; family, friends, and especially my son and daughter that know to never give up on what you love to do, just like their mama," described Melster.
